After segregated schools were banned in the southern stated of America, Ruby became the first black child to attend what had previously been a whites only school. The biography explains what school was like for Ruby. The resource contains 3 worksheets of questions, differentiated for use through KS1 and KS2. It could also be used to support readers in KS3 and supports aspects of learning in SMSC. Answers and ‘content domain’ references are included for each question.
